Benjamin Cobb has always been fascinated by science and the natural world. Most recently his focus has been on the internal organs of the body. By creating abstract, stylized versions of stomachs, kidneys, and lungs, he challenges the viewers’ thoughts and ideals of beauty.

In the Judi and Harry Mullikin Gallery, MoNA presents Susan Skilling – Reading the World. Skilling has been painting and exhibiting in Seattle for over 25 years. Her paintings are elegant meditations of color, composition, and content.

Spokane artist Bradd Skubinna creates floor and wall installations in the museum using found materials, including plastic, foil, drawings, and photos. The colorful and decorative work presents intricate patterns bustling with rhythmic vitality.

Saturday, September 20, 2014 - 11:00am

With a focus on intuition and process, in this class we will use fluid acrylics to paint loose, layered marks on rice paper, inspired by the Susan Skilling exhibit. All materials provided. Ages 5 and up.
