DOCENT ASSOCIATION

Docents are a diverse, well-trained and highly committed group of volunteers who are critical to MoNA's exhibition and education programs. As gallery staff and tour leaders, they are primary ambassadors of the Museum, welcoming visitors and fostering understanding of our exhibitions. Docents receive training from artists and other experts in the field, and from MoNA's professional staff about the exhibitions. In addition, docents are invited to special social and educational activities including excursions to other museums, private collections and artists' studios.

Involvement as a docent is an enriching, educational experience. Many docents enjoy the opportunity to serve their community, meet people with similar interests and share their knowledge and love of art with visitors. We provide the training, you bring your enthusiasm and a keen interest in art!

Membership in the Docent Association requires a $20 per year membership fee, plus training per the formal Docent or Tour Leader Trainings. For more information, contact our Education Department at 360-466-4446 x 106 or jasminev@museumofnwart.org.
